School Description

Pupils at Weston Point College enjoy the school’s calm atmosphere and the mutual respect between staff and pupils. Pupils feel listened to and valued for who they are. They take pride in their achievements. The excellent relationships that pupils have with staff help them to grow in confidence. Any instances of misbehaviour are handled well by staff. Pupils feel safe because of the predictable and consistent way that they are supported to be the best they can be. The school sets high expectations for pupils’ achievement. Pupils study for, and achieve, a range of qualifications from entry levels to GCSEs, to match their aptitudes and aspirations. There is as much emphasis placed on developing pupils’ social, emotional and mental health as well as their academic achievement at the school. Pupils are supported well to make the right choices and respect one another’s differences. Over time, they thrive in their personal development. Pupils enjoy a wide range of enrichment activities. These include golf, tennis and experiencing virtual reality games. These help them learn to cooperate with one another to solve problems. Other activities, such as working on an allotment and trampolining, help pupils to develop their social skills and independence.
