School Description

St Wilfrid’s School is a vibrant place for pupils to learn. They receive a good education. Pupils live up to the school’s motto of ‘a small school with a big personality’. They have very positive attitudes. Pupils are proud of their school. They say it is friendly and welcoming. Older pupils help the younger pupils to feel safe and secure. A typical view of parents is that ‘this is a caring school where children thrive’. This is true. When pupils join the school, they learn quickly of leaders’ high expectations. Pupils behave well in lessons and during social times. The calm atmosphere in lessons helps pupils to concentrate and do their best. Staff say that behaviour is not a problem at St Wilfrid’s. This view is also supported by parents and pupils. Pupils feel safe. Leaders make sure that pupils feel they can speak out should they have a concern or worry. Pupils are adamant that bullying does not happen.

“Would not recommend”

unlock
"> We weren’t very impressed with St Wilfrids, Exeter. The school claims to be ‘nurturing & supportive with caring teachers who get to know your child so that they develop into excited and eager learners’ but sadly the reality is that there are only a few caring teachers at this school in my opinion and children can be misunderstood and put in isolation for up to a week at a time. It’s an odd little school, not great for regular kids but not great for kids with learning disabilities either. Would not recommend.
“Fantastic School”

"> This is and excellent school that provides fantastic all round education in a kind and empathetic manner. My child has come on so quickly in a non pressured culture. He is already reading ahead of his age range and enjoys going to school.
“Excellent little school!”

unlock
"> Really worth checking out if you have a child that needs a small and nurturing environment but with a strong academic syllabus.
“Hidden gem!”

unlock
"> A truly amazing little school where children are really nurtured and allowed to flourish both academically and emotionally. I've never experienced another school like it. Definitely one of a kind.
