Priory School is an independent day school for pupils from the ages of four to 18 years. It opened in 1993. At the beginning of 2012, the school moved premises from its previous site in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. It is now situated in Whippingham in a Victorian school building which has undergone refurbishment and extension. The school is registered for 160 pupils. The school’s governance arrangements consist of a Inspection report: Priory School, 22–24 May 2018 Page 8 of 11 strategic executive committee, which includes the proprietor, senior staff and other suitably qualified persons. The school states on its website that it is non-denominational although run with a Christian ethos.
