FROM INFANTS TO SIXTH FORM: GIRLS FIRST

At Nottingham Girls High School we understand girls. We understand what makes them tick, how they learn and what they enjoy. Our lessons are structured to ensure the girls get as much out of them as possible. We are now the only single-sex independent day school for girls in Nottingham

- We use real-world examples to help girls understand concepts better by seeing how they work in real life.

- We teach in collaboration and co-operation, as girls prefer to learn in groups.

- We encourage pupils to take risks, to learn from their mistakes and grow in confidence.

At NGHS, three words underpin all that we do:

Leading, learning and loving it

We pride ourselves on being a nurturing environment which allows each girl to be the best she can be. We are also proud to be part of the GDST:

ENCOURAGING CHARITY WORK

We recently celebrated our 140th anniversary. A variety of events were held to mark this in creative ways. Our thriving Knitting Club were inspired to make 140 baby bonnets for the neonatal intensive care unit at the City Hospital. Nottingham. The girls wanted to help in a practical way that was accessible to everyone.

This is just one example of how Nottingham Girls High School enjoys supporting charities, with a practical solution to support the neonatal unit. The school community takes great pride in supporting charities locally, nationally and worldwise, with fundraising efforts amassing tens of thousands of pounds over the years.
