School Description

Linn Moor School is a semi-rural education and residential campus for children, young people and adults who have autism and additional support needs. They are supported by an education team with specialised expertise. We pride ourselves on working in partnership with our students, their families and residential authorities to provide meaningful outcomes for our students. The school is situated just beyond the village of Peterculter and nestled within the Linn Moor woods. This provides our students with an abundance of opportunities for experiential, outdoor, community and therapeutic learning. It is our ethos to provide learning around literacy, numeracy, health & wellbeing and life-skills, initially fostered within classroom bases and expansive outdoor facilities, with opportunities carefully structured to practice and transfer our students skillset into their wider community, thus laying the foundation for their adult life. Based on the principles of the Curriculum for Excellence (CfE), The Promise and Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC), Linn Moor School continues to educate through a child-centred approach with highly individualised and relevant expectations to stimulate and challenge each young person. We embed a teacher-led holistic approach to education, practising collegiate assessment, planning, delivery and review
