School Description

Eastbourne College is situated on the edge of Eastbourne, metres from the sea and the glorious South Downs. Pupils can flourish in this wonderful setting with access to a safe town centre that allows them to become more independent but without the concerns or restrictions of isolated rural or urban schools. With over 630 pupils in the school, Eastbourne College is very much a community rather than an institution, where every child is well known and valued.

WELCOME TO EASTBOURNE COLLEGE

There are not many top senior independent schools in Britain where you can take a six-minute stroll and find yourself on the doorstep of a national park, an international tennis venue, a county cricket ground, two challenging golf courses, award-winning beaches, theatres, a modern art gallery, a brand new shopping centre with 7-screen cinema and a mainline station to London and Ashford International.

The College believes that the key values of participation, the pursuit of excellence, integrity, courtesy and kindness form the bedrock upon which every child's education should stand, providing young people with the wherewithal to flourish both at school and beyond. The College positions itself as the "blue health" school and aimsto utilise its unique seaside location to promote healthy learning for the long term.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS

In 2020, sixth form pupils achieved excellent A-level results with almost 55% of the grades awarded being A* or A grades. N74 early 80% of all grades were A*, A or B with a 100% pass rate. At GCSE almost 70% of pupils received at least five or more grades at 9-7.
