In 2019, East Surrey College, incorporating Reigate School of Art, merged with John Ruskin College to form the East Surrey College Corporation, known as Orbital South Colleges. The college has two sites. One is in Selsdon, in the London Borough of Croydon, and the other is in Redhill, Surrey. The college provides a range of vocational, further and higher education courses from entry level to level 4, as well as apprenticeships from level 2 to level 6. At the time of the inspection, there were approximately 2,500 students on education programmes for young people. More than two-thirds studied at the Redhill campus, most on a range of levels 1, 2 and 3 vocational courses. A high proportion of learners also studied functional skills or level 2 qualifications in English and/or mathematics. There were approximately 90 students studying a range of T levels at Redhill and nine on a T level in mechanical engineering at the Selsdon campus. There were 751 adult learners studying qualifications such as rail engineering, access to higher education in healthcare and tailored learning courses such as Spanish, calligraphy and jewellery making. Approximately 175 adult learners studied English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) courses from pre-entry to level 1.
