Independent preparatory schools do not have to follow the National Curriculum or submit test results to the Department for Education so there is no individual school performance data or star rating.

Visit the school's website to learn more about their unique curriculum, policies on testing and common leaver destinations (a good indicator of pupil progress). See our About page for information on Choosing A Prep School.

School Description

Pupils are happy and are kept safe. The school has done much to build the sense of community among pupils, for example, through daily ‘community time’ each morning. Pupils value the friendships that they have here and the social time that they have together. Since opening, the school has focused, in the main, on making sure that pupils’ emotional well-being is well supported. However, ambitions for pupils’ academic achievement have not been given adequate priority. Plans for what pupils should learn have not been implemented. As a result, the school’s aims for pupils’ learning have not been realised. Pupils’ achievement across the curriculum is poor. Across subjects, including early reading, the curriculum does not support pupils’ learning effectively. The school prioritises giving pupils autonomy over their learning. Typically, when pupils make decisions for themselves about what they learn, they approach tasks sensibly and with focus. However, the school’s work to ensure that pupils conduct themselves appropriately and participate in all aspects of their education is not well established. As a result, pupils’ behaviour and, in particular their attitudes to learning, are too variable.
