School Description

Thomas Alleyne’s High School is an average-sized secondary school. Pupils join in Year 9. The school is a member of the Uttoxeter Pyramid, the organisation which works to coordinate the education provided by the 17 first, middle and secondary schools in the area. Each school retains an independent governing body. Almost all pupils come from White British backgrounds. The proportion of pupils who have special educational needs or disability is broadly average. The proportion of pupils who are disadvantaged and receive support from the pupil premium, which is the additional funding for pupils known to be eligible for free schools meals and those looked after by the local authority, is high. The headteacher took up her post in May 2014. At Key Stage 3, one pupil currently receives full-time alternative educational provision at Burton Pupil Referral Unit. Further details of this placement are withheld in the interests of confidentiality. The school meets the government’s current floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for the attainment and progress of pupils by the end of Year 11.
