St Anne’s College Grammar School is a welcoming, caring and supportive place where pupils enjoy their learning. The school has created a nurturing environment where people’s differences are celebrated. Pupils said that they feel happy and safe at this school. From early years through to the sixth form, the school has high expectations of what pupils can achieve. Children in early years learn well. However, across key stages 1 to 5, pupils do not achieve as well as they should. This is because of weaknesses in how well the curriculum is designed and delivered in some subjects. Pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), receive high levels of pastoral support from staff. They enjoy warm relationships with staff. Pupils behave well in class and around the school. Furthermore, pupils have a strong voice in this school. They told inspectors that they appreciate how staff consider their views carefully. The school offers an engaging choice of extra-curricular activities and wider enrichment experiences. Pupils spoke enthusiastically about the trips that the school provides to enhance their learning for example to historical sites, wildlife centres and the Lake District. Children in early years enjoy and benefit from visits such as to the nearby park, the beach and local farms.

2015 GCSE RESULTSImportant information for parents
Due to number of reforms to GSCE reporting introduced by the government in 2014, such as the exclusion of iGCSE examination results, the official school performance data may not accurately report a school’s full results. For more information, please see About and refer to the section, ‘Why does a school show 0% on its GSCE data dial? In many affected cases, the Average Point Score will also display LOW SCORE as points for iGCSEs and resits are not included.
Schools can upload their full GCSE results by registering for a School Noticeboard. All school results data will be verified.
