The concentration of pupils shows likelihood of admission based on distance criteria

This School Guide heat map has been plotted using official pupil data taken from the last School Census collected by the Department for Education. It is a visualisation of where pupils lived at the time of the annual School Census.

Our heat maps use groups of postcodes, not individual postcodes, and have naturally soft edges. All pupils are included in the mapping (i.e. children with siblings already at the school, high priority pupils and selective and/or religious admissions) but we may have removed statistical ‘outliers’ with more remote postcodes that do not reflect majority admissions.

For some schools, the heat map may be a useful indicator of the catchment area but our heat maps are not the same as catchment area maps. Catchment area maps, published by the school or local authority, are based on geographical admissions criteria and show actual cut-off distances and pre-defined catchment areas for a single admission year.

This information is provided as a guide only. The criteria in which schools use to allocate places in the event that they are oversubscribed can and do vary between schools and over time. These criteria can include distance from the school and sometimes specific catchment areas but can also include, amongst others, priority for siblings, children of a particular faith or specific feeder schools. Living in an area where children have previously attended a school does not guarantee admission to the school in future years. Always check with the school’s own admission authority for the current admission arrangements.

3 steps to help parents gather catchment information for a school:

  1. Look at our school catchment area guide for more information on heat maps. They give a useful indicator of the general areas that admit pupils to the school. This visualisation is based on all attending pupils present at the time of the annual School Census.
  2. Use the link to the Local Authority Contact (above) to find catchment area information based on a single admission year. This is very important if you are considering applying to a school.
  3. On each school page, use the link to visit the school website and find information on individual school admissions criteria. Geographical criteria are only applied after pupils have been admitted on higher priority criteria such as Looked After Children, SEN, siblings, etc.

School Description

The Premier Academy converted to become an academy school on 1 September 2010. When its predecessor school, Eaton Mill Primary, was last inspected by Ofsted it was judged to be outstanding. The school was operating a ‘transition’ programme during the inspection. Each year group had moved up to its next class from May 2013. There were no children working in the Reception Year class as they had moved to ‘Year 1'. Inspectors therefore looked at examples of pupils’ work and at teachers’ records. Year 6 were operating as ‘Year 7’ in school. This is a larger-than-average sized primary school. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for the pupil premium, which is additional funding provided by the government for children in local authority care, children from service families and pupils known to be eligible for free school meals, is above the national average. The school meets the government’s current floor standards, which set the minimum expectation for pupils’ attainment and progress in English and mathematics in Year 6. The proportion of disabled pupils and those with special educational needs supported through school action is higher than the national average. The proportion of pupils supported at school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs is higher than the national average. The majority of pupils are of White British heritage. The proportion of pupils from other minority ethnic backgrounds is above the national average, as is the number of pupils who speak English as an additional language. The school has established a private limited company, Eaton Mill Nursery and Out of School Day Care Limited, which shares the school site. It is inspected separately.

“World Class”

unlock
"> As Ofsted said, "World Class." It's not like a school as you know it, the school is alive and the staff are so friendly. It bucks all my preconceived ideas and memories of when I was at school. I would move house to get in at this school.
“This school is letting children down”

unlock
"> In my opinion, this is letting children down. My kids have not enjoyed their time here. You never see the money you put into the school. The mini golf course, for example, was a waste of money and never gets used. They've created extra classes and but employed inexperienced teaching assistants. The staff never stay long. There is no bright colourful work up on walls to encourage children either. It concerns me that they are an academy can do what they want in terms of your child's education.
“In a league of its own!”

unlock
"> I didn't even know this school existed and now my child goes to the biggest and best school in the Local Authority (in my opinion.) There are about 800 children here and the facilities are mind blowing. They even have a golf course. The kids have specialist PE, IT and Spanish. It isn't like any other school. It's in a different league.
“Better than the best.”

unlock
"> It is simply the best school in Milton Keynes. The facilities are BRILLIANT, the staff are brilliant and the results speak for themselves. Different class.
