The King’s School in Gloucester is one of the seven famous Cathedral Schools established by Henry VIII in 1541. Today we are an award-winning, forward-thinking, independent day school with 740 pupils. We welcome boys and girls, aged 3 to 18, offering academic excellence and a celebrated range of co-curricular activities, underpinned by outstanding pastoral care.
With small class sizes and inspiring teachers, King's offers a vibrant culture of energy and endeavour in a stunning historic setting adjacent to Gloucester Cathedral, which is where many of our daily school services are held. As a result, our school has a special sense of identity which encourages strong moral values and a powerful feeling of community.
King's aims to inspire all pupils to discover their talent and reach their greatest possible achievements by participating in the wide range of cultural, intellectual, sporting, creative and performing arts activities available.
The unique features of King’s, which visitors identify time and again, are the inclusive community, the warmth of welcome and the level of individual care for our pupils.
However, the best way to find out more about our school is to attend one of our open days or come for a bespoke tour. More details are available on our website.
