Special schools provide a unique and distinctive educational environment to meet the needs of the pupils in their community. Undertaking standard tests may not be appropriate and we do not show performance data for special schools.

The Bridge School is a happy and enjoyable place to learn. Strong relationships between staff and pupils underpin much of the school’s work. Staff are ambitious for all pupils and work hard to ensure that every child can be the best they can possibly be. Everyone is made to feel part of this inclusive school. Pupils complete tasks in lessons with eagerness and are supported extremely well by staff. At social times, pupils play together happily on the swings or the school climbing frame. Staff provide popular lunchtime activities, such as art and sensory clubs. Pupils feel safe in school and always have someone on hand to help them if needed. The school provides many wider enrichment opportunities for pupils. The school’s ‘Bridge to the future’ includes 50 things for pupils to do before they leave school including leaf rubbing, gift wrapping and planting seeds. As well as this, pupils also take part in ‘The Bridge’s Got Talent’ show performing songs and dancing. Pupils also visit a local water park where they enjoy bug hunting and mud painting. Parents and carers are extremely positive about the school. One parent, reflecting the views of many, said, ‘The staff are amazing and put so much effort into teaching. They make learning fun.’

2015 GCSE RESULTSImportant information for parents
Due to number of reforms to GSCE reporting introduced by the government in 2014, such as the exclusion of iGCSE examination results, the official school performance data may not accurately report a school’s full results. For more information, please see About and refer to the section, ‘Why does a school show 0% on its GSCE data dial? In many affected cases, the Average Point Score will also display LOW SCORE as points for iGCSEs and resits are not included.
Schools can upload their full GCSE results by registering for a School Noticeboard. All school results data will be verified.
