School Description

Sudley Infant School is slightly larger than the average-sized infant school. The proportion of pupils supported by the pupil premium is lower than average. (This is funding to help raise the achievement of pupils known to be eligible for free school meals, children of service families and children looked after by the local authority.) A below-average proportion of pupils are supported by school action or by school action plus or have a statement of special educational needs. The proportion of pupils from minority ethnic groups is below average. The proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language is below average. One pupil attends Mab Lane Primary School part time to receive specialist learning support for four mornings every week. The school is currently part of a pilot with Liverpool local authority regarding the assessment of children on entry to the Early Years Foundation Stage.

This School Guide heat map has been plotted using official pupil data taken from the last School Census collected by the Department for Education. It is a visualisation of where pupils lived at the time of the annual School Census.

Our heat maps use groups of postcodes, not individual postcodes, and have naturally soft edges. All pupils are included in the mapping (i.e. children with siblings already at the school, high priority pupils and selective and/or religious admissions) but we may have removed statistical ‘outliers’ with more remote postcodes that do not reflect majority admissions.

For some schools, the heat map may be a useful indicator of the catchment area but our heat maps are not the same as catchment area maps. Catchment area maps, published by the school or local authority, are based on geographical admissions criteria and show actual cut-off distances and pre-defined catchment areas for a single admission year.

“No after school support for working families.”

Good school generally. Teachers seem engaging and it is well lead. However it doesn’t have an after school club. This doesn’t seem like a big deal but it means you employ a private after school care provider. They are hit and miss can be unreliable. If you work long hours, this school isn’t for you. I don’t think it supports working families well.
