School Description

This school is much smaller than most schools for pupils of primary age. Most pupils are of White British origin. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for free school meals is below average. The proportion of disabled pupils and those with special educational needs is also below average. Since the previous inspection the school has entered into a federation with another local primary school. This means there is now one headteacher and one governing body for both schools. The school meets the government’s current floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress.

Our heat maps use groups of postcodes, not individual postcodes, and have naturally soft edges. All pupils are included in the mapping (i.e. children with siblings already at the school, high priority pupils and selective and/or religious admissions) but we may have removed statistical ‘outliers’ with more remote postcodes that do not reflect majority admissions.

For some schools, the heat map may be a useful indicator of the catchment area but our heat maps are not the same as catchment area maps. “An approach to education to aspire to...”
"> An absolute gem of a primary school! The children have fun every day and are celebrated for being the individuals that they are. The teachers deliver an exciting curriculum in amazingly creative ways which enables all of the children, no matter what level they are working at, to feel good about themselves and what they are capable of. Fantastic links to the wider community and the children have a beautifully growing sense of identity and belonging within this school. A positive approach to behaviour and problem solving oozes through in the way that the children communicate with and respect each other. I see this school managing to get the very best from my children and I see my children so willing and determined to give their best. My own expectations of primary education for my children is that they should be developing skills for their future in a fun and creative way that ensures they come away with a love of learning. This school has this in abundance and my children are genuinely excited to go to school each and every day. Hats off to everyone at this school! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
