St Thomas More is larger than an average-sized primary school. It has expanded since the last inspection and there are now two classes in all year groups. Children in the early years provision are taught in two Reception classes. The proportion of disadvantaged pupils is below average. The proportion of pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities is also below average. The school meets the government’s current floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress in reading, writing and mathematics at the end of Year 6. The headteacher provides valued support for several other schools in the local area and diocese, especially with the development of leadership skills.
