Our heat maps use groups of postcodes, not individual postcodes, and have naturally soft edges. All pupils are included in the mapping (i.e. children with siblings already at the school, high priority pupils and selective and/or religious admissions) but we may have removed statistical ‘outliers’ with more remote postcodes that do not reflect majority admissions.

Pupils' wellbeing and family engagement are at the heart of St Michael’s Roman Catholic Primary School's vision and philosophy. All staff work hard to ensure that there is a caring and inclusive environment within the school. This has a positive impact on pupils' progress, their behaviour, and their very positive attitudes to learning. Pupils enjoy coming to school. All teachers and support staff have high expectations of pupils. Many pupils start school with literacy and numeracy skills that are below those expected of pupils of a similar age. Most pupils make good progress during their time at school, especially in their speaking and listening skills. Teachers provide a broad and balanced curriculum, and exciting experiences and challenges to engage and enthuse pupils to learn. The school promotes pupils’ understanding of their Welsh culture and heritage very well through its curriculum and activities. The headteacher provides strong and purposeful leadership. Together with a conscientious team, she is improving pupil outcomes, and raising pupils’ and parents’ aspirations successfully.
