“Great school let down by food”

unlock
"> The school has many features that I cannot commend more highly. These include the staff/student respect, the relaxed and welcoming attitude of the teaching staff, the excellent academics and the wide range of after school activities. Where the school is let down is the food. The school has chosen to be vegetarian. Whilst I have no problem with this the school, unfortunately, does not provide a nutritious and healthy vegetarian diet. Rather they offer a lot of fake meat (fake chicken nuggets, fake sausages, etc.) which, in my opinion, have dubious nutritional value. Also, because students are given the freedom to choose what they want to eat, most are sitting down at lunchtime with a plate of chips and white rice. All attempts to help the school redesign the menu were quickly dismissed. If this was a state school the food would not be allowed as it does not meet required nutritional standards which I would not expect from a fee-paying school
“A really lovely and excellent school”

unlock
"> My child stated that they wanted to go to this school as soon as we had left after visiting during the open day. At the time he was at a lovely and very fast-paced prep school. I was concerned only because he is very academic and I had got the (WRONG) general impression via the local community that the St Christopher was better suited to children with special needs. The school has scooped him up and served his needs very well, he is very happy, and the standard of work and homework is very high. He receives excellent feedback and he finds the staff to be warm, kind and very helpful. He settled in very quickly and has made some really lovely friends. I am so glad that I let him lead the decision on this school, as he is clearly very contented, settled and making very fast and good progress. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I am glad that there are children there of all levels of ability and some with learning challenges, it makes for a rich and joyful community of learners, and the opportunity to make good friends.
