School Description

Seameadows School is a small independent special day school owned by Seameadows Care Limited. The school, which first opened in 2008, moved to its present site in Margate in 2010 and is registered with the Department for Education to provide education for up to 20 boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 16. At present there are five boys attending full time aged 13 and 14, all of whom have statements of special educational needs. All have significant behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD) and have experienced personal traumas and disruption in their previous education. Three of the students are subject to care orders and live with foster parents. The school which aims ‘to provide pupils with a broad and balanced curriculum that includes rewarding and stimulating activities and to develop their self-esteem’, was last inspected in 2010.
