School Description

Rowden House School is an independent special school for pupils with severe learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. The school is registered to admit up to 48 students. Students can arrive at different points in the school year. The school is managed and owned by the SENAD group. The school shares a campus with children’s and adults’ homes. These homes are inspected separately. Inspection report: Rowden House School, 28–30 November 2017 Page 9 of 12 There are currently 14 pupils on roll, aged 11 to 19 years. The majority of pupils are children looked after. Thirteen students live on the school campus. Two local authorities supply pupil premium funding in addition to other fees. All pupils have a statement of special educational needs or education, health and care plan. Pupils have complex mental health needs and/or medical conditions. Many pupils have challenging behaviour. Some pupils have spent long periods away from education prior to transition to Rowden House. The school does not make use of any alternative providers. The school was last inspected in October 2014.
