The school is an average-sized secondary school with a sixth form. Shortly after the previous inspection, a new deputy headteacher joined the school. The members of the senior leadership team have all been in the school for over two years, with the exception of one of the six assistant headteachers who joined in September 2016. The school hosts a specially resourced provision, funded by the local authority, for pupils who have autistic spectrum disorder. For a large proportion of their lessons, these pupils are taught in mainstream classes. The proportion of disadvantaged pupils supported by the pupil premium is below the national average. The school uses no alternative provision. The school meets the government’s current floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress. The school does not comply with Department for Education guidance on what academies should publish about the articles of association of the academy trust.
