Independent preparatory schools do not have to follow the National Curriculum or submit test results to the Department for Education so there is no individual school performance data or star rating.

Visit the school's website to learn more about their unique curriculum, policies on testing and common leaver destinations (a good indicator of pupil progress). See our About page for information on Choosing A Prep School.

School Description

Botton Village School is an independent school for boys and girls aged 3-14. It is situated in North Yorkshire and is part of the Steiner Waldorf Schools Fellowship. There are 31 pupils on roll, 25 pupils attend full time and 6 pupils attend the school on a part time basis. Five pupils are identified as having special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEN). No pupil has an education and health care plan (EHCP). Eight pupils speak English as an additional language (EAL). The school has no headteacher and management rests with the trustees and the college of teachers. The chair of the college of teachers and chair of trustees had been recently appointed at the time of the previous inspection. Both have been associated with the school for some time. The number of pupils on roll has declined significantly in recent years and the school has stated its intention to close at the end of the current academic year in July 2017.
