School Description

With an outstanding academic journey from 2½ to 18, Meoncross, located on the south coast of Hampshire, is the co-educational independent school that makes learning come alive. The ‘School of One’ ethos is for every pupil to realise their full potential, with individual learning and goals for each child, supported by academic mentors who monitor and guide pupil progress and achievement. The school's SIS Inspection in 2014 remarked on the quality of teaching and assessment as outstanding, and that pupils of all abilities make very good progress as they move through the school.

FIVE WAYS TO WELLBEING FOR ALL MEONCROSS PUPILS

“The single biggest predictor of success in adult life is wellbeing in childhood”, says Headmistress Sarah Ebery.

At Meoncross School, we embed five strands of wellbeing into all we do to equip pupils with the resilience they need to navigate the world.

Our Five Ways to Wellbeing:

Connect
Be active
Take notice
Learn
Give

Mrs Ebery, an experienced teacher, is bringing the theory of wellbeing to life through the introduction of a coastal-inspired curriculum, made practical and possible by the school’s location on the Solent coastline in Portsmouth.

Minutes from the school is Hill Head beach, which has long been used by the teachers as an outdoor classroom. It acts as a natural resource for teaching and learning and has become an informal extension of the school.
