The school was delighted to receive the ISI (Independent Schools’ Inspectorate) report in 2015 in which the school was judged as ‘excellent’ across all eight aspects of school life under review. Please go to The Data section of our School Guide page and click on View our Full Report to read the inspection findings.
This superb report follows on from King Edward’s being placed by The Sunday Times in the top five performing schools in the South West, based on outstanding public examination results.
The School was inspected by ISI in December and the report’s main findings highlight what makes it such a vibrant, dynamic and high achieving school: “The success of the school lies in the strength of the ethos which permeates it from the EYFS to the sixth form. All three sections of the school encourage the pupils to strive for excellence and to achieve to the best of their ability in a stimulating environment so that they acquire a love of learning which goes beyond the formal curriculum.”
Other key elements of the report focused on the “excellent personal development” of pupils from Pre-Prep stage, right through to the senior school, where the report found sixth formers to be “mature, kind, friendly, loyal and socially responsible young people.”
Headmaster, Mr Martin Boden, expressed his pleasure on receiving the report, saying: “The full report reads to me as a genuine reflection of the School that I know well and am very proud to lead. It also stands as testimony to the hard work and team effort – from teaching and support staff, pupils, parents and governors – that help to make King Edward’s such a thriving and successful school.”
