2016 RESULTS

GCSE Results

This year our students achieved their best ever examination results at GCSE. Around 50% of results were A* or A.  Within these statistics there were some outstanding performances from individual pupils including 11 A*, 10 A* & 1 A and 9 A* with 1A & 1B.

A-Level Results

This year we have seen another strong set of A Level examination results.  Of all the A Levels sat, 98% gained passes with around 50% of these being at grades A* – B.

Over a quarter of pupils gained BBB or better and there were some excellent individual performances.

Overall, this enabled pupils to attend their chosen courses at a range of universities including Warwick, Nottingham and Southampton as well as a host of Russell group universities.

OUR ETHOS

Our Ethos is focused on creating a friendly, family-oriented, and nurturing environment where all pupils are known as individuals and all are valued equally regardless of race, religion, gender or disability.

Our caring ethos is based on the universal values essential for a civilised society:

  • showing courtesy and consideration to all
  • taking responsibility for one's own actions
  • service to others and especially those in need
  • honesty with others and to oneself

It is reflected in the academic approach of the School in which the setting and demanding of high standards takes place within a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. The structure and organisation of the School are also designed to support and strengthen this distinctive ethos.

BY PARENTS, FOR PARENTS

“A wonderful environment to learn”
AUTHOR:
Halliford has been wonderfully supportive school which encourages and nurtures with a smaller environment with good teachers. It has a strong ethos without being a pressure cooker environment. My son excelled at GSCEs and has got some great A Level results and is about to embark on his place at University. I'd really say it's been a fantastically supportive place.
“A good school”
AUTHOR:
Our grandson has attended Halliford since Year 7, and will shortly join the sixth form. He has very much enjoyed his time in the school, finding the staff very approachable and supportive. The boys are treated with respect and expected to do the same in return. Obviously, as in any establishment, there are blips along the way, but we have always found that staff are available to contact, and any difficulty is addressed. He has benefited from his time at the school which has helped him to mature, be empathetic, and take on responsibility.
“Excellent school”
AUTHOR:
Halliford is an excellent school. My son is flourishing. He has been nurtured and challenged and is doing very well. The school is strict about behaviour, which I think is great. They manage to do this while letting the boys be individuals. It's a positive school and gets the best from the boys I believe. Highly recommend this school.
“Think seriously before you decide on this school.”
AUTHOR:
In my opinion, this school does not offer the nurturing and caring atmosphere its strap line ethos suggests. There are some good teachers at the school but there are also some poor teachers who demonstrate a somewhat aggressive intimidating and uncaring approach. If your son's face does not fit he will be under unfair scrutiny and extreme pressure early on. A recent school inspection found the school to be good however one would reasonably expect excellent or outstanding from a fee paying school at this price. Sports provision is good however if your son does not enjoy rugby then beware. The head lacks experience as this is his first posting as head master having previously been a deputy head at his previous school.
