Fiveways Special School is a small school. The majority of pupils are of White British Heritage and speak English as their first language. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for the pupil premium, which is additional funding for children in the care of the local authority and pupils known to be eligible for free school meals, is just above average. All of the pupils have a statement of special educational needs. The majority of pupils have severe learning difficulties or profound and multiple learning difficulties. No pupils attend an off-site provision. Some pupils are also registered with local mainstream schools. The school is expanding in September 2014 to accommodate an additional 10 pupils with complex difficulties.
