School Description

Cranmore is a leading independent prep school in Surrey, situated in West Horsley between Guildford and Leatherhead. Its Christian ethos is central to supporting every child’s development and pupils come from a variety of backgrounds with about one-third from Roman Catholic families. The majority live locally, although some come from a wider geographical area. The overall ability profile on entry is above average, and the majority of pupils start in the Cranmore Nursery and Reception with a few joining later in Year 3 or if spaces occur in other year groups. Having established a strong co-educational Nursery several years ago, Cranmore is committed to becoming fully co-educational throughout the school in planned phases.

“Would not hesitate to recommend”

unlock
"> I would not hesitate to recommend the school to any prospective parent, whether of a boy or a girl, who is looking for a well run, academically strong school, with an amazing range of facilities and activities, where the children really do learn and grow together.
“Highly recommended”

unlock
"> We've had a fabulous experience at the school. The teaching has generally been very good and at times really inspirational and supportive. Our child has really enjoyed the extra curricular activities. The music offer and support is out-standing as is the sport.
“My son has developed so much here”

unlock
"> My son joined Cranmore aged seven from a co-ed state junior school. He settled in extremely well and we have seen him develop so much in the last three years. The teachers he has had are fabulous, readily available and respond to queries (however small) very quickly. The pastoral care is solid and the opportunities he has been given ( academically, musically and through sport) are fabulous. Couldn't recommend the school enough.
“Exceptional”

unlock
"> Our son joined Cranmore aged six (upper prep) from another private school. He settled in very quickly with the help of the most wonderful, caring teachers and soon made many friends. The opportunities and to try different things are amazing whether is it is academically, musically or through sport. Cranmore is a very special school indeed and has the most fabulous, caring, engaging teachers and the pastoral care is excellent. We have seen our son flourish, grow in confidence and be truly happy at school and can’t believe he will be in his final year as a Sixth Former in September! The time has just flown by and our son has just enjoyed another successful and happy year at Cranmore. It is truly an outstanding school that upholds excellent values and beliefs and we can’t recommend this school enough.
“A passion for learning”

unlock
"> I have two children at Cranmore, of different sexes and abilities. They have only been there just over a year but all teachers and staff I have come across have been wonderful at identifying both children's needs. Any issues are addressed quickly and you as a parent are listened to. The facilities at the school are incredible but most importantly I have happy children who have discovered a passion for learning and love going to school.
“Exceptional pastoral care”

unlock
"> Given the excellent standard of teaching across the core curriculum, music, arts, and sport, as well as the fantastic facilities available at the school, it is easy to overlook the exceptional pastoral care that the school provides.
“Confidence through opportunities”

unlock
"> In the time that our eldest daughter has attended Cranmore, she has become noticeably more confident in herself, which I attribute to the fact that she is exposed to a very wide variety of activities at the school. Students are provided with opportunities in sport, art, music, as well as Forest School - which are integrated into the core curriculum - all of which are taught by specialist staff.
