What’s included in my paid School Guide subscription?

A School Guide paid subscription unlocks all the premium features on School Guide so you can get comprehensive one-stop-shop help to find the best school for your child. Current full price is £19.95.

If you are signing up to read parent reviews, please be aware that not all schools have reviews and we are not responsible if parents have not added reviews to the schools you are researching. 

How does the monthly premium subscription work?

If you choose to register and pay for a monthly subscription to School Guide to access premium features, you will be charged the advertised cost per month (currently £19.95/month) every month until you cancel your subscription. You can cancel your subscription at any time after the first payment has been made, and you will still gain access to the premium features on the site until the end of the first paid month. There is no maximum subscription period. You can contact us by email [email protected] with questions about your subscription. 

How do you process payments?

Card payments are processed by Stripe, an online payment processing portal, and you can read Stripe's UK Services Agreement. You can check out using Google Pay, Link or by adding your card details.

How does registering via Facebook work? 

It's very quick and easy to register for a paid account with our Facebook Connect button. This logs you into School Guide using your Facebook details and you do not need to enter an email address or create a password. Everytime you return to School Guide, you need to log in via the Facebook login button.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription any time after the first payment has been taken.

How do I cancel my subscription? 

Simply email [email protected] and tell us your name and the email address you registered with and we can quickly and easily cancel your paid account. We do not offer refunds on the first payment. 

Please note: we cannot accept subscription cancellation requests via telephone as we need to verify your email address. 



I have been offered a discount. How do I apply it?

We occasionally offer discounts to select partners and this works by visiting School Guide via a unique link from the partner website. You do not need to add a code or coupon at checkout as it's automatically applied via the unique link. It's important that you note the offer period - typically 12 months - after which the subscription will revert to full price. If the discount is not applied as expected, please email [email protected].

What if I am not happy with my purchase?

We are confident you will find School Guide helpful and easy-to-use. We've helped 20 million parents find the best school for their child. But if you experience an issue, please let us know by emailing us at [email protected]

I'm having problems logging in to my paid account. Can you help?

If you signed up using an email address and password – i.e. not via Facebook login – please make sure you have confirmed your email address. You need to do this within 48 hours of payment. We emailed you a link during registration. Check your Spam or Promotions folder just incase it's lurking at the back of the classroom there.

If you are still having problems logging in, please email [email protected] and we will be happy to help by confirming the subscription for you.

I've tried to change my password but it says I cannot change it. Why?

You can only change your password AFTER you have confirmed your account via the link sent to you on registration. If you have not confirmed your account and cannot find the confirmation link, please email us at [email protected] and we'll manually confirm your account.

I am not able to view all of the paid content. Why? 

Some older website browsers find loading the interactive information on School Guide a little hard work. If you cannot see any parts of the school pages, we recommend using a different browser (Chrome or Firefox, for example) or opening an incognito window. If this does not do the trick, please email us at [email protected] with details of the browser you are using and any screenshots you have of what you can see and we will investigate the issue as soon as possible.

It looks like there is data missing from a school page. Why? 

We are only able to show data for schools where it is available at official sources. Also, we only give a school a School Guide Star Rating when it has enough data to rate it fairly. We explain what data we collect, when we collect it and how we rate schools on our About page.

How many Parent Reviews do you have?

Our reviews are written by parents for parents and give an important window on the schools. We currently have 16,500+ reviews but please do check if a school has a populated reviews section before you subsctibe if you wish to read the latest reviews. Reviews are blurred before you unlock the page.

Where do you get all your information from? Is it reliable? 

We update our pages as often as daily in the case of Parent Reviews, weekly with inspection reports and monthly or annually in line with the official release dates for school data in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Can I buy an annual subscription?

Yes, our current full price annual subscription to School Guide currently costs £99/year, which offers a huge discount of 60% on a 12-month subscription (full price for 12 months = £240). Please note: no other discounts can be applied to the annual price. Buy an annual subscription.
