This is smaller than an average-sized primary school. The school has two classes. The younger class has pupils in Key Stage 1 as well as children starting in the Reception class. The older class accommodates pupils who are in Key Stage 2. Reception children attend full time. Most pupils are from White British backgrounds. There are a few pupils from minority ethnic backgrounds, but none speak English as an additional language. The proportion of disadvantaged pupils supported by the pupil premium is much higher than average. This funding provides additional support for pupils in local authority care and those known to be eligible for free school meals. The proportion of disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs is well above the national average. A much higher proportion of pupils than average are admitted or leave the school during the course of the school year. Some pupils stay for a short time and then return. There were too few pupils in Year 6 in 2014 to comment on the government’s current floor standards in relation to this school. The school has had significant turbulence in teaching staff. The older class has had five different teachers since the start of the academic year and the younger class has had a change in class teacher and is currently being taught by the headteacher and temporary staff. The school has an on-site pre-school, which was inspected separately in March 2015.
