Queen Eleanor is a smaller-than-average-sized primary school. About two thirds of the pupils are White British. Other pupils are from a range of heritages including other White backgrounds, African and Pakistani. The proportion of disabled pupils and those with special educational needs is about a quarter. This is well above average. Nearly two thirds of pupils are eligible for the pupil premium. This is well above average. The pupil premium is additional funding for looked after children and those known to be eligible for free school meals. Children in Nursery attend part time, while those in Reception are full time. The school met the government’s current floor standards in 2014, which set the minimum expectations for pupils' attainment and progress in reading, writing and mathematics. An interim deputy headteacher and an interim assistant headteacher were appointed in September 2014.
