How have we plotted this heat map?

This School Guide heat map has been plotted using actual admissions data from the School Census collected by the Department for Education. It gives a good indication of the areas a pupil would need to live in to have been successfully admitted to the school in the last academic year.

We use groups of postcodes to show general admission areas and label them according to likelihood of admission based on last year’s intake. We may have removed statistical outliers with more remote postcodes such a siblings and high priority pupils.

This map is to be used as a guide only. Catchment areas can change from year to year to reflecting the number of siblings and high priority pupils. Living at a postcode that returns a Very Likely admission indicator does not guarantee admission and a pupil’s location always needs to be considered alongside individual school admission criteria.

See About for more information of the source of our catchment heat map data.
