This school is larger than most primary schools. Peterhouse first and middle schools amalgamated to form Peterhouse Primary School in September 2008. In March 2010 the school was placed in special measures. It was removed from special measures in May 2011. In April 2013 the school re-opened as a voluntary aided Church of England primary school, in the same building. A high proportion of teaching staff have left or joined the school since April 2013. A new deputy headteacher has been appointed to take up post in January 2014, when the current acting deputy headteacher will leave to take up headship in another school. A high proportion of governors have left or joined the school since April 2013 and a new Chair was appointed in October 2013. The proportion of pupils supported by pupil premium is above the national average. In this school the additional funding supports pupils who are known to be eligible for free school meals, or looked after by the local authority. The proportion of disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs supported through school action is low. The proportion of pupils supported at school action plus or with a statement of educational needs is above the national average.
