The school is larger than the average-sized primary school. The school meets the government’s current floor standards, which are the minimum expectations for attainment and progress of pupils by the end of Year 6. The two previous section 5 inspections of this school, in May 2014 and February 2013, both judged the school to require improvement. The school has received support from the local authority since the last inspection. This support initially was focused on staffing issues and has been concentrated on school improvement since January 2016. The governing body has registered interest in joining a multi-academy trust.
