The school has begun again the process of identifying a suitable sponsor. At the time of this inspection, the school was being led by an acting headteacher, who had been in charge for one week. An interim headteacher has been appointed and was due to take up the post on the Monday following the end of this inspection. A series of significant events, including major building refurbishments, staffing difficulties, major changes in senior leadership and management, and a protracted and ultimately unsuccessful process to become an academy, and some others, has hindered the pace of improvement at the school since the last inspection.
