The school is federated with Moorlands Junior School which shares the site. The headteacher leads both schools and there is a single governing body. The junior school was not inspected as part of this inspection. The school is smaller than the average-sized primary school. There are two full-time Reception classes in the Early Years Foundation Stage. The school receives pupil premium funding for around 12% of the pupils. This proportion is lower than the national average. The pupil premium is additional funding for children in the care of the local authority and pupils known to be eligible for free school meals. The proportion of disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs that are supported by school action is below average. The proportion supported by school action plus is below average. Currently, no pupils have a statement of special educational needs. The very large majority of pupils have a White British heritage and very few speak English as an additional language. The school shares a site with a children’s centre and hosts a breakfast and after-school club. These are not managed by the governing body and so were not inspected as part of this inspection.
