School Description

This school is an average-sized primary school. Most pupils are from White British backgrounds. The number of pupils from a different ethnic minority background is very low and all the pupils speak English. The proportion of pupils supported at school action is below average. The proportion of pupils supported at school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs is average. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for the pupil premium is below average. The pupil premium is additional funding allocated for pupils in the care of the local authority, those known to be eligible for free school meals or whose parents are in the armed services. The school exceeds the government’s current floor standards, which are the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress. The school was named in the top 50 primary schools in the whole country in 2013. The school has achieved many external awards, such as the Inclusion Quality Mark Gold. The headteacher is a local leader of education. Currently, there is a large building project on the school site, as the school prepares to expand its premises.
