How Does The School Perform?

PREP

Independent preparatory schools do not have to follow the National Curriculum or submit test results to the Department for Education so there is no individual school performance data or star rating.

Visit the school's website to learn more about their unique curriculum, policies on testing and common leaver destinations (a good indicator of pupil progress). See our About page for information on Choosing A Prep School.

All of the pupils are from families within the Brethren community and the school is affiliated to Focus Learning Trust (FLT) and is registered as a school of Special Religious Character. There are currently twentyseven pupils on roll, with one class of pupils in Years 3 and 4 and one with pupils in Years 5 and 6. Admission is non-selective. No pupil has a statement of special educational needs. Pupils travel to the school from homes in Stafford, Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield. The school had its first inspection in May 2010. Summary of main findings: Focus School Stafford Primary Campus provides a good quality of education for its pupils. Teaching is mostly good and assessment is good resulting in pupils of all abilities making good progress and achieving well. Although the curriculum is good, opportunities for challenging and creative ways of learning are limited. The spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils is good; their behaviour is outstanding and they enjoy coming to school. The provision for their welfare, health and safety is good and aspects of safeguarding are addressed securely. Parents are wholeheartedly supportive of the school and many give their time and talents to very good effect through their active support for areas of the curriculum. The school has maintained its good provision since the last inspection. What the school does well:    it fosters and develops pupils’ outstanding behaviour; it creates an environment in which pupils are highly motivated and enthusiastic about learning; and it sustains a strong ethos in which relationships are very positive and pupils feel known and valued as individuals.
