School Description

Education and Youth Services, ‘Re-Start’, Chelmsford, is a co-educational day school for students in the age range of 14-16 years. It is part of a nationwide group of Education and Youth Services (EYS) learning centres. The school was registered in November 2012 for up to 40 students and opened in January 2013. There are currently two students on roll, both of whom are dual registered with local secondary schools. One student attends the school on a full-time basis, and one attends part-time. All students have behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. In addition to the two students on the school’s roll, there are 19 older students aged 16-18 who attend the school on a part-time study programme funded by the Department for Education. The headteacher, appointed in August 2013, resigned in December 2014. An acting head of centre is currently managing the school.
