School Description

Dover School for All Nations is an independent Christian day school on the outskirts of Dover in Kent. The school aims ‘to teach a Christ-centered curriculum that will mentor and equip well-balanced pupils in a supportive, loving and caring environment’. The school is affiliated to Christian Education Europe (CEE) and pupils work towards the International Certificate of Christian Education (ICEE). The school uses the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) scheme. The school is owned by four members of a local Christian family, who make up the proprietorial board. A governing body has been set up consisting of representatives of the proprietors, the headteacher, staff and parents. The managing director represented the proprietors and the governors during the inspection. The school opened in January 2014. It occupies former church premises, on a former military base in the port zone, which is being re-developed by Dover Port and Harbour Board. The building has been converted for educational use, with a large learning centre for junior and senior pupils and a smaller learning centre for the ABC group of younger children. There is also a pre-school nursery for the youngest children. The learning centres are designed with individual work spaces for pupils called offices. The hall and kitchen are shared with a local church and used by them at agreed times during the school day. The school is registered for up to 80 pupils between the ages of three and 18 years. There are currently 13 pupils on roll between the ages of three and 14 years of age. There are no pupils in the sixth form. At present there are no pupils with a statement of special educational needs. There is a headteacher, who has been in post since July 2014, and a core group of employed staff. The majority of teaching staff are volunteers, which is their ‘calling to ministry’. There are no teaching assistants. This was the first inspection of this new school.
