School Description

Clun Primary School is situated in the village of Clyne in the Vale of Neath. The school serves a largely rural area which is socially and economically mixed. The school provides education for 69 pupils aged three to 11 years old. It has a part-time nursery. Cohort sizes are small and there are three mixed-age classes in the school. Nineteen per cent of pupils are entitled to free school meals. This is just below the national average and below the local authority average. The school has identified 27% of pupils as having additional learning needs, which is higher than the national figure. A very few pupils have a statement of special educational needs. There are no looked-after children in the school. Nearly all pupils come from English speaking homes. No pupil speaks Welsh as a first language at home. . The school was last inspected in June 2007. The current headteacher took up post in January 2012. The individual school budget for Clun Primary School in 2012-2013 means that the budget is £3,972 per pupil.
