School Description

The school is larger than most junior schools. Most pupils are of white British heritage. The proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language is well below average and none are in the early stages of learning English. The proportion of disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs is well below average. The proportion of disadvantaged pupils supported by the pupil premium is below average. This is additional government funding for pupils known to be eligible for free school meals or who are looked after by the local authority. The school meets the government’s current floor standards, which sets out the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress. The school is supported by a national leader in education (NLE), who is the headteacher of St Thomas More’s Catholic Primary School. The school is a member of the Colne cluster partnership, which is a group of schools who support each other.
