School Description

The school meets requirements on the publication of specified information on its website. Brereton is a smaller than average-sized primary school, although its numbers are increasing. Pupils are predominantly of White British heritage. The proportions of ethnic minority pupils and of those who speak English as an additional language are well below national averages. Occasionally, pupils are admitted to the school during the course of the academic year. The proportion of pupils who have SEN and/or disabilities is below the national average. Inspection report: Brereton CofE Primary School, 5–6 December 2017 Page 9 of 12 The school does not meet the government’s floor standards, which are the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress. The headteacher had a period of absence during the summer term of 2017 and has made a phased return to her duties. Her senior team covered for her absence. The school is working towards achieving academy status by the end of this academic year. The school has links with other primary schools within the Holmes Chapel District Community partnership.
