This is a broadly average-sized primary school. The proportions of disabled pupils, those with special educational needs and those supported through school action are below average. The proportion of pupils supported at school action plus or with a statement is above average. Virtually all pupils are from White British backgrounds. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for extra support funded by the pupil premium initiative, (including those known to be eligible for free school meals, children in local authority care and those from service families, such as in the army) is below average. The school runs its own breakfast club and provides a range of before- and after-school activities for pupils. The school operates its own nursery and it also works in partnership with a private playgroup based on the school site which is not managed by the governing body. The school meets the current floor standard which sets the government’s minimum expectations for attainment and progress. The school is managing falling pupil numbers due to changes in the age at which pupils transfer to secondary education across the local authority and is now a one form entry primary school.
