School Description

Lathallan School (est. 1930) offers an extraordinary education to nursery, junior and senior school pupils between the ages of 6 weeks and 18 years – and was recognised as the UK Small Independent School of the Year in 2021. Our unique school environment nurtures growth, encourages exploration, provides community, and stimulates a lifelong love for learning. We’d recommend that you visit us to really get a feel for the place, we welcome families year-round for a private tour. Contact [email protected]. Our 19th-century school castle, boarding house, and facilities are located within 60 acres of leafy grounds on the edge of the stunning North Sea coastline. This setting provides unrivalled outdoor learning opportunities. We are the only all-through school in Scotland to achieve the Silver Learning Outside the Classroom quality mark. With an average class size of 12, it’s safe to say that at Lathallan, personalised attention for every pupil comes as standard. Our teachers can truly get to know each student individually, identifying their talents and interests, and then nurturing those passions to help them thrive. “Lathallan pupils throw themselves into school life and simply 'get involved'. Whether it be in class, on the sports field, while on an outdoor expedition, or performing on stage, pupils embrace the opportunities and support one another. Above all else, it is our aim that pupils should develop a sense of who they are and what they can achieve.” – Mr Toley, Headmaster School motto: Vincit qui se vincit - (He Conquers Who Conquers Himself). Values: Confidence, Opportunity, Respect, Endeavour and Modesty
