School Description

The Edinburgh Academy is a modern, exciting, vibrant co-educational school for 2 to 18 year olds. Housed on two characterful sites near the centre of Scotland's capital, the school provides a caring environment that provides an exceptional tailored academic offering alongside a broad co-curricular programme in expressive arts, outdoor education, sport and voluntary service. Our overriding ethos is derived from the school motto: ‘Always Excel’ as this informs our focus on pupil wellbeing and character development, giving our students the self-confidence, self-belief, resilience and determination to do their best. At the Edinburgh Academy we aim to work closely with parents so that our pupils find and unlock their potential, discover ways that our students can succeed and help them to learn new things about themselves as they grow into young adults.

The Edinburgh Academy Parent Reviews

Average Parent Rating

“Bad sportsmanship”

I watched my 11 year old grandson play rugby for Clifton Hall School against an Edinburgh Academy team recently. The Academy team was easily the stronger team a won the game with ease. The game was spoiled by the Academy boys arguing with the referee and general bad sportsmanship. I told their games master that I was an Academically (1958-62) and that I was appalled at his team’s behaviour and was told “they are always like this”. I can only hope that this is a one off.
