School Description

Pupils feel successful at Arc Oakbridge School. Adults take time to get to know them and find out about their interests. If anyone is upset or angry, then staff respond calmly and fairly. Adults keep a close watch on pupils. This means that bullying of any sort rarely happens. Even so, staff teach pupils how to spot it and how to stop it. Some pupils act as behaviour ambassadors or school councillors. This gives them a voice in managing school life. They take their roles seriously and help others. All staff have high expectations for pupils’ behaviour and attendance. They listen to pupils and find ways to get the best from them. Staff explain why certain rules or expectations are important so that pupils understand. However, staff are also willing to be flexible and change what they do if something is not working very well. Pupils like this. They feel supported and safe. Parents also praise the school. They say the school helps their children to succeed in education and has a positive impact on their home life. Pupils study all the subjects of the national curriculum and gain useful qualifications.
